China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged parties involved in the Iran conflict to remain committed to a ceasefire and to meet each other halfway, speaking after chairing a United Nations Security Council meeting in New York. He emphasized that long-standing disputes cannot be resolved overnight but said that each step in negotiations brings renewed hope for peace and fewer civilian casualties in the Middle East.

Iran accused the United States of violating the ceasefire through what Washington described as defensive strikes in southern Iran, while the United States said a negotiated agreement to halt the conflict could take several days. Wang reiterated that sustained dialogue is essential to ending the violence as soon as possible.

Reports have suggested that Iran may consider transferring its sixty percent enriched uranium to China as part of ongoing negotiations. China has not denied the possibility and stated it remains in close communication with relevant parties, expressing willingness to play a constructive role in resolving the Iranian nuclear issue and promoting regional stability.
