Explosions were reported at Iran's main oil export hub on Kharg Island, which handles about ninety percent of the country's oil exports, as regional tensions sharply escalated. Iranian media also reported strikes on bridges, railway lines and other transport infrastructure in several cities, with casualties reported in Kashan and Alborz province.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a stark warning to neighboring countries, declaring that its restraint 'has ended' and threatening to target United States and allied infrastructure across the region. It said previous considerations in selecting targets were no longer in place, signaling a broader potential campaign affecting energy and transport networks.
The Israel Defense Forces said it had completed a wide wave of strikes on dozens of targets inside Iran, including bridges and infrastructure allegedly used to transport weapons. It also reported hitting a petrochemical complex in Shiraz tied to missile and explosives production, as well as a ballistic missile site in northwestern Iran from which missiles had been launched toward Israel.
Additional explosions were reported in Tehran and other cities, including at sensitive defense and energy sites. Qatar warned that the conflict was approaching a point where it could spiral out of control, as a United States deadline related to maritime access and energy routes added further pressure to an already volatile situation.
