Staff Sgt. Touvel Yosef Lifshiz, 20, was killed in combat in southern Lebanon shortly after receiving a certificate of excellence for his service in Gaza. According to his mother, he was sent to Lebanon without time to rest and never returned home. He died during an exchange of fire after troops identified Hezbollah militants in the area, and five other soldiers were wounded.
Lifshiz served as a fighter in Battalion 13 of the Golani Brigade, a unit he had worked hard to join and was deeply proud to serve in. His mother described him as constantly smiling, devoted to helping others, and committed to protecting the people of Israel. She said the family had lived in constant anxiety during months of fighting, always waiting for his calls.
The family last saw him during the Purim holiday, recalling a joyful gathering filled with laughter and affection. They were informed of his death days later, news that turned their lives upside down. Relatives, friends, and local leaders gathered at the family home in Beit She'an to mourn, honoring him as a devoted son and a source of pride for his community.
