India has maintained a balanced and composed diplomatic approach amid the ongoing West Asia crisis, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said in Lucknow. He noted the rising tensions between the United States and Israel on one side and Iran on the other, and described the situation as complex and uncertain.
Singh stated that India has managed to preserve strong relations with all sides despite escalating hostilities, reflecting diplomatic maturity and consistent global engagement. He highlighted that attacks on military bases linked to the United States in Gulf countries underscore the seriousness of the crisis.
Referring to maritime challenges around the Strait of Hormuz, he said Indian oil tankers have continued operations despite tensions, demonstrating the effectiveness of India’s foreign policy. He also linked this balanced diplomacy to domestic stability, saying India protected its citizens from severe disruptions during the global liquefied petroleum gas energy crisis through timely government intervention.
Singh added that although uncertainty continues in West Asia, India is fulfilling the role of a responsible and mature nation by safeguarding its strategic and economic interests through steady and credible engagement.
