Questions are mounting over the timeline of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cancer diagnosis and treatment following remarks that appear to conflict with his physician’s account.
Netanyahu said Friday that he requested a two month delay in the release of his medical report so it would not be made public during the height of the war, arguing that disclosure could have enabled Iran to spread false propaganda against Israel.
However, his physician, Professor Aharon Popovtzer, stated that the treatment occurred two and a half months ago, which would place it before the war that began on February 28. The discrepancy has raised concerns and prompted scrutiny over whether the diagnosis was known months before the conflict started and why the information was withheld from the public.
