Two civilian contractors delivering water for the United Nations children's fund were shot dead by Israeli forces in northern Gaza, the agency said, expressing outrage over the incident. The men were operating at the Mansoura water filling point, described as the only functioning truck filling site for a major water supply line serving Gaza City. Two other people were wounded, and operations at the site have since been suspended.

The Israeli military said its troops opened fire after identifying two armed individuals approaching the boundary of the area under Israeli control, adding that the incident is under review. The agency called for an immediate investigation and stressed that humanitarian workers and critical civilian infrastructure must be protected under international humanitarian law.

In separate incidents the same day, the Israeli military said it killed two Palestinians who crossed the ceasefire line and posed an immediate threat to troops. Meanwhile, Gaza health authorities reported that more than 72,000 people have been killed in the territory since the war began on October 7, 2023, though the figures do not distinguish between civilians and combatants.
