Eight children between the ages of 1 and 14 were killed in a mass shooting at a home in Shreveport, Louisiana, in what authorities have described as a domestic violence incident. Police said a total of 10 people were shot at multiple locations inside the residence.

According to law enforcement, the suspected gunman fled the scene after the shooting and hijacked a vehicle. Officers pursued the suspect and opened fire during the chase, fatally shooting him. No officers were injured in the confrontation.

Authorities said some of the children who were killed were believed to be the suspect’s relatives. The investigation remains ongoing as officials continue to gather details about the circumstances surrounding the attack.
