Iran has not yet decided whether it will participate in a new round of talks with the United States, according to multiple local news agencies. The Islamic Republic News Agency reported that there is 'no clear prospect of fruitful negotiations' under current conditions.
The Fars and Tasnim news agencies, citing anonymous sources, said the overall atmosphere surrounding potential talks is not positive. One source indicated that lifting what was described as a United States blockade on Iranian ports would be a precondition for any negotiations.
State media also criticized Washington for what it called 'maximalism and unreasonable and unrealistic demands,' as well as frequent changes in position and ongoing maritime restrictions. Iranian outlets suggested that these factors have complicated efforts to move discussions forward.
