The Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism has recommended barring 40 activists from the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor from entering Israel, following claims that the organization is headed by a Hamas operative. The decision was made in coordination with the Population and Immigration Authority and is based on an amendment to the Law of Entry into Israel. The ministry has also launched a website detailing its allegations against the group.

Minister Amichai Chikli said the organization uses a human rights facade to promote terrorist activity and anti-Israel efforts. Director General Avi Cohen Scali accused the group of spreading false information and defaming the state, warning that Israel would act against entities it believes are operating against its interests.

According to the ministry's report, the organization, registered in Switzerland and operating from Geneva, focuses primarily on campaigns that it says aim to delegitimize Israel in international institutions, media, and legal forums. The report alleges the group has promoted severe accusations against Israel, including genocide and deliberate starvation, and has supported sanctions and boycotts.

The ministry identified the group's founder, Ramy Abdu, as a Hamas operative who has publicly expressed support for the October 7 attacks and resistance against Israel. It also noted the involvement of senior figures who have previously made controversial statements regarding Israel and the conflict.
