In a statement, organizers said the current government had lost its moral, political, and public mandate and was unfit to lead national celebrations. They accused the leadership of undermining democratic foundations and weakening the country's security.

Those participating in the alternative ceremony included activists advocating for the return of hostages, lawmakers, retired military leaders, and prominent protest movement founders. Several former senior defense officials and political figures were also scheduled to address the event, underscoring the broad coalition of critics involved in the demonstration.
