Around 20 Palestinians entered the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank, despite it being designated a closed military zone for more than a year. Israeli forces believe the individuals were attempting to retrieve personal belongings, though the circumstances remain under investigation.
Troops stationed in the camp, along with Border Police officers, identified the group and detained most of them. Those detained are currently being questioned by Israeli security forces, while searches continue for the remaining individuals.
The Israel Defense Forces has maintained a presence in the camp since January 2025, following the launch of a large-scale counterterrorism operation known as 'Operation Iron Wall.' Residents were displaced during the operation and have not been allowed to return to the area since then.
