Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told senior commanders of the Israel Defense Forces that while Israel has achieved significant successes against Hezbollah in Lebanon, the campaign is not yet complete. He said the military had neutralized much of Hezbollah’s rocket arsenal, created a security zone to prevent cross-border incursions, and maintained freedom of action to strike emerging threats.
Despite these gains, Netanyahu identified two remaining major dangers: 122 millimeter rockets and unmanned aerial vehicles. He stressed that addressing these threats would require a combination of operational measures and advanced technological solutions, adding that a major technological effort is already underway.
Netanyahu said Hezbollah now possesses only a fraction of the missiles it held at the start of the war, but that the remaining capabilities continue to disrupt life in northern Israel. He told commanders he expects these threats to be resolved, arguing that doing so would pave the way for progress on the diplomatic front.
