Twelve soldiers were wounded after a Hezbollah drone struck a military position near the northern border community of Shomera, according to the Israeli military. Two of the soldiers sustained moderate injuries, while the others were reported to be in good condition.
The drone, launched from Lebanon, hit an armored cargo carrier, causing it to catch fire. Several artillery shells in the surrounding area also detonated following the impact.
The military is investigating whether the drone was guided by a fiber optic cable, a method that cannot be disrupted by electronic jamming. Hezbollah has reportedly used fiber optic-guided drones in multiple recent attacks on troops in southern Lebanon.
