Kemi Badenoch has said the Conservative Party is 'cutting through' to voters ahead of the 7 May local elections across London, insisting it has changed under her leadership. She told voters that this is a new Conservative Party, different from the one rejected two years ago, and argued that it is rebuilding trust by being honest and realistic about what it can deliver.

All 32 London boroughs are up for election, with the Conservatives currently controlling five councils and the mayoralty in Croydon. Badenoch described her party as the only credible alternative to Labour, claiming the governing party has quickly become unpopular and that voters are now seeking something different.

Addressing growing support for smaller parties such as Reform and the Greens, Badenoch said the Conservatives are offering consistency rather than unrealistic promises. She acknowledged that regaining trust takes time but expressed confidence that the party is on course for a comeback, aiming to reconnect with voters through what she called common sense policies and aspirational leadership.
