Israel has tightened restrictions in northern communities following renewed rocket fire from Hezbollah, with impacts reported in the Meron and Sasa areas. The updated measures affect towns near the border as well as Meron, Bar Yochai, Or HaGanuz and Safsufa, shifting them to a level of partial activity amid rising tensions.
Under the new guidelines, educational activities and workplaces may operate only indoors or in areas with access to protected spaces. Public gatherings are now limited to 200 people outdoors and 600 indoors, with the restrictions in place from Friday afternoon through Monday evening.
The annual Lag BaOmer celebrations at the tomb of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai in Meron have been significantly scaled back and could be canceled. A proposed plan would allow three supervised bonfire ceremonies with up to 200 participants each, though the framework may still change following pressure from ultra Orthodox officials.
