Iran said it is reviewing a response from the United States to a 14 point proposal aimed at ending the war, according to state media. Tehran said the plan focuses on stopping the conflict and stressed that there are currently no nuclear negotiations underway.

According to a regional news outlet, the proposal outlines three stages, beginning with stabilizing a ceasefire and transforming it into a permanent end to hostilities. The first phase would include mutual nonaggression commitments involving Iran, its allies and Israel, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, easing the blockade on Iranian ports and establishing an international body to prevent a return to war.

The second stage calls for a temporary freeze on uranium enrichment for up to 15 years, after which Iran would be permitted to enrich uranium to 3.6 percent. Tehran would not dismantle its nuclear infrastructure but has proposed exporting or diluting its stockpile of highly enriched uranium. The final stage envisions a broader regional security framework through strategic dialogue with Arab and neighboring countries.

President Donald Trump said he would review the proposal but indicated skepticism, stating that Iran has not yet paid a high enough price for its past actions. Meanwhile, tensions remain high in the region, with continued enforcement of the maritime blockade and reported incidents involving commercial vessels near the Strait of Hormuz.
