British Lebanese actress Razane Jammal is set to star in the upcoming historical drama 'Asad,' marking her first lead role in an Arab production. The film, directed by Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Diab, is scheduled for release across the Middle East on May 21. A newly revealed poster, inspired by classical oil paintings, showcases the ensemble cast in period costumes.
Set in the 1800s, 'Asad' blends action and romance, featuring large-scale sequences with around 2,000 extras and stunt coordination by Kaloyan Vodenicharov. Jammal stars opposite Egyptian actor Mohamed Ramadan, alongside Maged El-Kedwany, Khaled El-Sawy, Sherif Salama and Ahmed Abdelhamid.
Jammal, known internationally for her roles in 'The Sandman' and 'Paranormal,' recently appeared in the second season of 'The Sandman.' She also expanded her creative work this year with the release of her children's book 'Lulu and Blu.'
