Iran announced that its navy has seized an oil tanker in the Sea of Oman that it says was carrying Iranian oil and attempting to disrupt the country's exports. State television reported that the vessel, identified as the Ocean Koi, was captured in what officials described as a specially planned operation.

According to the statement, the ship was redirected to Iran's southern shores after allegedly seeking to damage and interfere with Iran's oil trade. Authorities said the oil on board belonged to the Islamic Republic, though they did not provide further details about how the tanker was allegedly attempting to disrupt exports or why it had been operating under sanctions imposed by the United States.
