The death toll in Gaza since October 7, 2023 has risen to 72,737, with 172,539 people injured, according to Palestinian medical sources. In the past 24 hours alone, one person was killed and four others injured amid ongoing Israeli attacks, while many victims remain trapped under rubble as emergency teams struggle to reach them.
Since a ceasefire was declared in October in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh, at least 800 people, including more than 200 children and seven humanitarian workers, have been killed. Nearly all of Gaza’s 1.8 million residents have been displaced and are reliant on humanitarian aid, as access for foreign journalists and aid deliveries remains restricted.
A peace plan proposed by the United States, calling for the disarmament of Hamas, the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the reconstruction of Gaza, has stalled. Meanwhile, several international organizations have accused Israel of genocide, and the International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for several Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on war crimes charges.
