Heed PM's advice on using fuel with restraint: CM Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis urged citizens to follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to use fuel with restraint, warning that India could face shortages if consumption is not controlled. He said global disruptions caused by the conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran have led to reduced oil and gas supplies and sharp price increases in many countries.

Fadnavis pointed out that several nations are already experiencing severe fuel scarcity and rising prices, citing Pakistan as an example where rates have climbed steeply. He noted that although India continues to receive supplies, the situation remains fragile due to the blockade of key shipping routes affecting global energy trade.

Prime Minister Modi had earlier called on citizens to reduce petrol, diesel and cooking gas usage to conserve foreign exchange and lessen the economic strain of the ongoing conflict. He also highlighted efforts to strengthen energy security through solar power, ethanol blending and expansion of cleaner fuel alternatives.

Fadnavis emphasized that responsible fuel consumption is essential to prevent future shortages and urged people across the country to act on the Prime Minister’s advice.
