US ambassador to Israel says Israel sent Iron Dome batteries, personnel to UAE to defend country

The United States ambassador to Israel said that Israel sent Iron Dome missile defence batteries and personnel to the United Arab Emirates during the recent conflict involving Iran. The move was intended to help defend the Gulf nation as a fragile ceasefire remains in place and tensions with Iran continue.

The comments highlight the deepening defence ties between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, which established diplomatic relations in 2020 under the Abraham Accords. The ambassador praised the partnership and expressed optimism that more countries in the region may soon formalize relations with Israel.

Despite the ceasefire, uncertainty persists as the Strait of Hormuz remains under Iran's influence and negotiations between Washington and Tehran appear stalled. Many Arab states remain angered by Israel's military actions following the 2023 attack by Hamas, even as some Gulf nations weigh security concerns about Iran against their evolving ties with Israel.
