The United Arab Emirates has placed 21 Lebanese individuals and organizations on its local terrorist list, accusing them of having ties to Hezbollah. Authorities ordered the immediate freezing of their assets and instructed financial and regulatory bodies to identify and act against any related accounts or commercial relationships within 24 hours.
According to the state news agency, the move targets 16 Lebanese nationals and five organizations alleged to support groups already designated as terrorist entities. The decision comes amid heightened regional tensions following missile and drone attacks during a conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.
In March, authorities in Abu Dhabi announced the arrest of five people described as members of a Hezbollah-linked network accused of threatening the country’s financial stability. Hezbollah has denied having any presence inside the United Arab Emirates.
