The United Arab Emirates has urged Iraq to immediately prevent further attacks launched from its territory, following an alleged drone strike targeting a nuclear power facility in Abu Dhabi. The foreign ministry called on Baghdad to act urgently and without conditions to address what it described as hostile threats originating from Iraqi soil.

The demand comes after a drone struck an electrical generator near the Barakah nuclear plant, causing a fire but no injuries or radiation leak. Two additional drones were intercepted. The attack was not claimed by any group. Last month, several Gulf countries and Jordan also called on Iraq to take swift action against armed groups operating within its borders.

Iraq has faced increasing pressure amid a broader regional conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran. Pro-Iran armed groups had previously claimed responsibility for attacks on targets in Iraq and the wider region but announced a suspension of operations following a temporary ceasefire in April. Iraq's prime minister has since ordered the formation of military committees to coordinate with Arab states and verify information related to the incidents.
