Residents in Lucknow are revising their summer travel plans as tensions linked to the ongoing United States, Israel and Iran conflict reshape preferences. Travellers are increasingly avoiding West Asian destinations due to safety concerns, possible flight disruptions and rising travel insurance costs.
Travel operators report a sharp rise in bookings for Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Bali, Nepal and the Maldives. These destinations are viewed as safer, more affordable and better connected by air compared to parts of West Asia and Europe. Budget considerations are playing a major role, especially for middle-income families planning summer holidays.
Package prices to Dubai and Abu Dhabi have risen significantly in recent months, driven by higher airfares and regional instability. Many travellers have switched to countries such as Sri Lanka and Vietnam, citing smoother travel and fewer uncertainties.
Domestic destinations are also seeing renewed interest. Hill stations in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, beach locations such as Goa and Lakshadweep, and religious circuits in Nepal are attracting enquiries, as travellers prioritise safety, affordability and convenience.
