Chinese President Xi Jinping met Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Beijing during a visit marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Sharif also held talks with Premier Li Qiang and is scheduled to attend commemorative events and visit Zhejiang Province as part of his trip.

During their meeting, Xi described Sharif as an 'old friend' and referred to the relationship between the two nations as an 'unbreakable traditional friendship.' He reaffirmed that China places high priority on its ties with Pakistan within its broader neighbourhood diplomacy.

The two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation and regional developments, pledging to strengthen coordination on issues of shared concern. Xi also praised Pakistan's 'constructive' role in mediating peace efforts in the Middle East amid ongoing regional tensions.
