India's external affairs minister S Jaishankar spoke with his Iranian counterpart Seyed Abbas Araghchi, expressing support for regional and international efforts aimed at stopping the war and restoring stability in West Asia. The conversation highlighted the importance of diplomatic engagement to reduce tensions and ensure security across the region.
According to Iran, Araghchi condemned what he described as attacks by the United States and Israel on Iranian industrial sites, energy infrastructure and peaceful nuclear facilities. He also urged the international community and the United Nations to address what he called violations of international law and the normalization of war crimes.
Jaishankar also held discussions with the foreign ministers of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. Qatar's foreign minister emphasized the need to halt Iranian attacks on Qatar and other countries, warning against targeting critical water and energy infrastructure, and called for renewed negotiations and coordinated efforts to safeguard regional stability and global energy security.
