Israel is marking Holocaust Remembrance Day with ceremonies and moments of national reflection, including a nationwide siren set to sound at 10 in the morning. The day is dedicated to honoring the memory of the six million Jewish victims murdered during the Holocaust.
A central event titled Unto Every Person There Is a Name will take place at Yad Vashem, where the names of victims will be read aloud in a longstanding tradition. At the same time, a recorded ceremony from the Knesset will be broadcast across Israeli media.
Following the morning events, the public will be invited to attend a wreath-laying ceremony. The day’s commemorations will conclude with a state memorial service at 1 in the afternoon.
