The Israel Defense Forces announced that soldiers from an elite unit carried out a special operation in southern Lebanon shortly before a ceasefire agreement took effect at midnight on Thursday. The troops landed on the Cristofani Ridge, approximately twelve kilometers north of Mount Hermon, and established an operational presence in the area.
The mission was approved by the Chief of the General Staff and led by the Commander of the Israeli Air Force along with the head of the Northern Command. The military stated that it remains on high alert and will continue efforts to remove threats in southern Lebanon in line with the ceasefire understandings.
