Hezbollah has issued a warning to Lebanon's president, saying he would 'lose his status' if he meets with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The group stressed that political legitimacy in Lebanon comes from within the country and questioned whether the Sunni majority, including Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, would support any peace agreement with Israel.
A Hezbollah representative claimed that the current ceasefire arrangement is tied to Iran, asserting that it was created by Tehran. He emphasized that Hezbollah’s objective is not simply a ceasefire, but a full withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon and the unconditional return of displaced Lebanese residents.
The group vowed that no Israeli soldiers would remain in southern Lebanon, reinforcing its hardline stance against any normalization or peace talks with Israel.
