The Israeli military carried out air and ground strikes on Saturday against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, saying the operatives had approached the yellow line separating areas under Israeli control in violation of the ceasefire agreement. The military stated that artillery support was also used and that the actions were approved by the political leadership.

According to the Israeli military, the strikes were conducted in self defense to protect soldiers and civilians, emphasizing that it would take all necessary measures to prevent harm to its forces and communities near the border. It reiterated that it maintains the right to act against threats in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah and Lebanese media described the incidents as breaches of the ceasefire and said the group had informed Iranian leadership about the developments. Meanwhile, United States President Donald Trump said he had barred Israel from attacking Lebanese targets and pledged that the United States would address the Hezbollah situation separately with Lebanon.
