At a Memorial Day ceremony at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir declared that the military will not allow Iran to realize its ambitions against Israel. He said the armed forces had carried out an unprecedented campaign against the Iranian regime, striking its plans and remaining committed to safeguarding the country’s future.

Zamir highlighted recent military efforts across multiple fronts, including returning hostages from captivity in Gaza, reinforcing security along the Gaza and Syrian borders, and working to restore safety to northern communities near Lebanon. He said these actions were part of a broader mission to counter long-standing threats aimed at Israel’s destruction.

Addressing internal divisions, Zamir called for deeper national partnership in sharing the security burden, urging all parts of society to contribute. He emphasized that unity and cohesion are essential conditions for military strength and the continued existence and prosperity of the state.
