Right-wing activists disrupted several joint Israeli-Palestinian Remembrance Day ceremonies across Israel, including events in Tel Aviv and Ra'anana organized by Standing Together. Protesters shouted, played loud music, and attempted to force their way into venues where participants had gathered to call for an end to the cycle of violence.
Speakers at the ceremony included survivors of the October 7 attacks and relatives of victims, as well as a Palestinian mother whose son is being held in administrative detention. The events aimed to honor victims on both sides and promote a message of shared grief and reconciliation.
Additional disturbances were reported elsewhere in the country. In Lod, five members of one family were arrested after disrupting the nationwide Remembrance Day siren, affecting a municipal ceremony. In Beit Shemesh, two ultraorthodox men were detained for allegedly tearing down Israeli flags on the eve of the memorial day.
Police condemned the incidents and stated they would act with zero tolerance toward violations of memorial ceremonies and public order, emphasizing the importance of preserving respect for the fallen and maintaining public safety.
