A special Transition Ceremony will take place on the eve of Israel's Independence Day at the Ramada Hotel in Jerusalem, bringing the community together for an evening that moves from remembrance to celebration. Organized in cooperation with the Jerusalem Municipality, Israel Heritage, Nefesh B'Nefesh, and the Jerusalem College of Technology, the program is open to the public free of charge.
The evening will begin with a moving commemoration of Memorial Day for English speakers, honoring those who have fallen in defense of the country. It will then transition into a festive and uplifting musical prayer marking Israel's seventy-eighth Independence Day under the theme From darkness to light and from servitude to redemption.
Opening remarks will be delivered by Rabbi Avi Berman and Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Arieh King. The musical prayer will be led by Rabbi Shlomo Katz of Kehilat Shirat David in Efrat, inviting participants to join in a meaningful national moment of reflection and celebration.
