Four Israeli children received life-saving organ transplants during a concentrated 'transplant marathon' at Schneider Children's Medical Center, part of Clalit Health Services. The procedures included a liver transplant for a nine-year-old girl, kidney transplants for an eighteen-year-old woman and a two-and-a-half-year-old boy, and a heart transplant for a three-and-a-half-year-old child.
Hospital leadership described the week as both emotional and meaningful, highlighting the coordinated medical effort that made the operations possible. The medical team also expressed deep gratitude to the donor's family, acknowledging their generosity during a time of profound loss.
The father of one recipient, Noor, publicly thanked the family of the donor, Shabaa, saying their daughter's gift ended years of suffering and dialysis treatments for his child. He said that every breath and heartbeat of his daughter is a result of their decision, adding that a part of Shabaa will live on through Noor.
