Pennsylvania House Democrats are declining to back Senator John Fetterman for re-election in 2028, according to a new report. Not a single Democratic member of the state's House delegation would say he should run again as a Democrat, underscoring growing tensions between Fetterman and his party.

Several lawmakers avoided directly opposing a future campaign but sidestepped questions by focusing on the 2026 midterm elections. Representatives Brendan Boyle, Chris Deluzio, and Mary Gay Scanlon all emphasized concentrating on upcoming races, while others suggested that any decision about 2028 remains premature.

Some members voiced concerns about Fetterman's recent votes and positions, including disagreements over policy and questions about his health. Representative Summer Lee warned that a run would be 'at his own peril,' while others acknowledged disappointment with his legislative record.

Fetterman has drawn criticism from fellow Democrats for supporting Israel, backing President Donald Trump on the war against Iran, and endorsing stricter border policies. Although speculation has emerged about a possible party switch, Fetterman has said he will remain in the Democratic Party and continue serving as what he calls an independent voice.
