The Israel Defense Forces are searching for a suspect who threw rocks at vehicles traveling on Highway 60 near the village of Madama in the West Bank, injuring a 5-year-old child. The child was lightly hurt by shattered glass after a rock struck and broke the windshield of the family’s car. Paramedics from Magen David Adom treated the child at the scene.
Following the incident, Israeli forces launched an extensive search operation in the area. The village of Madama was cordoned off as troops conducted searches in the village and along nearby roads in an effort to locate the assailant.
The incident comes amid other recent rock-throwing attacks in the West Bank. Earlier this month, an Israeli was severely injured after being struck in the head by a rock near the village of Tayasir. In that case, an off-duty soldier shot and killed a Palestinian man suspected of carrying out the हमला, and the circumstances remain under review.
