Tensions have escalated along the Israel-Lebanon border following fresh exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah fighters. The Israeli military said three Hezbollah members were killed after attempting to fire a surface-to-air missile at an Israeli aircraft. Additional incidents reportedly involved rockets and an explosive drone launched toward Israeli troops operating in southern Lebanon.
The flare-up comes despite diplomatic efforts to prevent a broader conflict. President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Lebanon had agreed to extend an initial ten-day ceasefire by three weeks. The latest violence underscores the fragility of the truce and the risk of further escalation in the region.
