Nesia Karadi, an 11-year-old girl critically injured in an Iranian missile strike on Bnei Brak on the eve of Passover, has died of her wounds at Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer. Her funeral is scheduled to take place on Saturday night.
Her death raises the number of civilians killed on the home front during Operation Roaring Ion to 28. Nesia was the niece of Rabbi Michael Lasri and had been the focus of widespread public prayers for recovery since the attack.
The Bnei Brak Municipality expressed deep sorrow over her passing, describing her as a young life taken too soon and pledging support for her grieving family. Mayor Rabbi Hanoch Seibert said the entire city stands with the family in mourning.
In a radio interview, Nesia’s mother recalled that her daughter was considered a miracle at birth and was always careful to follow safety instructions during rocket sirens. On the night of the strike, however, she was asleep and unable to reach shelter before the missile hit, leaving her critically injured.
