A new residential project in Immanuel has been launched for the Lelov Hasidic community to address the housing shortage facing married yeshiva scholars. The initiative was introduced at a special gathering attended by rabbis, community leaders, and housing professionals, and has received the backing of the Lelov Rebbe.
Organizer Chaim Yitzhak Tambour said Immanuel was chosen after multiple alternatives were carefully reviewed, describing it as the most suitable option for the community. Rabbi Aharon Mordechai Green emphasized that providing spacious housing for married students supports both spiritual growth and family stability, particularly compared to overcrowded living conditions.
Legal and housing experts also voiced support for the plan, highlighting its structure and safeguards. Project leaders noted that the Lelov community is joining several other Hasidic groups that have already established a presence in Immanuel, further strengthening the city’s growing Hasidic population.
