Keir Starmer: 'Words not enough to fight antisemitism': Netanyahu slams Starmer after Golders Green stabbing - The Times of India

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has sharply criticised the United Kingdom government after a suspected antisemitic stabbing in Golders Green, London, left two Jewish men seriously injured. The victims, aged in their 30s and 70s, are in stable condition. Netanyahu said that weakness fuels repeated attacks and insisted that words alone are not enough, calling for decisive action to protect British Jews and ensure swift justice.

Police arrested a 45-year-old British man born in Somalia on suspicion of attempted murder. Counter Terrorism Policing is leading the investigation and examining possible extremist motives, as well as the suspect’s background, including prior violence and mental health issues. Authorities are also investigating a separate knife incident in south-east London that may be linked.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the attack as utterly appalling and said assaults on the Jewish community are assaults on Britain. The incident comes amid rising concern over antisemitic incidents in London, with community groups reporting a sharp increase over the past year. Jewish leaders and Israeli officials have urged stronger measures, saying condemnations alone are no longer sufficient.
