United States President Donald Trump welcomed the crew of the Artemis Two mission to the Oval Office to celebrate their recent journey around the Moon, the first crewed lunar voyage in more than 50 years. The astronauts met with the President after completing their 10 day mission, as he praised their bravery and highlighted the significance of their achievement for the country.
During the meeting, the President also commended the head of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration for his leadership and reaffirmed plans to return astronauts to the Moon’s surface in 2028. He confirmed that the agency’s headquarters will remain in Washington, District of Columbia, and spoke about the continued preparations for the upcoming Artemis Three mission scheduled for 2027.
In addition, the President mentioned a forthcoming release of government files related to unidentified aerial phenomena. Separately, Morocco announced that it had joined the Artemis Accords, becoming one of several nations committing to cooperation and peaceful exploration in future lunar missions.
