A new poll indicates that if elections were held today, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party would lose its position as the largest faction in the Knesset. The survey found that 46 percent of respondents prefer former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett over Netanyahu, who received 41 percent support. In a separate matchup, former Israel Defense Forces chief of staff Gadi Eisenkot narrowly leads Netanyahu by 44 percent to 42 percent.
According to the poll, Bennett's party would secure 28 seats, compared to 26 for Likud. Eisenkot's Yashar! party would emerge as the third largest with 14 seats, followed by the Democrats with 10.
Otzma Yehudit would win nine seats, while Yisrael Beytenu and Shas would each receive eight. United Torah Judaism would secure seven seats. The Arab parties Hadash Ta'al and the United Arab List would each gain five seats, while several smaller parties would fail to cross the electoral threshold.
