Thai authorities raided an unlicensed childcare center on Koh Pha Ngan and discovered 89 Israeli children in its care, far exceeding its permit to host only 18 children aged two to five. The children found at the facility ranged from two to 12 years old.
The center, known as Arki Kid, was operated by a Thai woman along with an Iranian couple. They face multiple charges, including employing foreign nationals without permits, failing to properly register employees, and operating a childcare center and private school without authorization. Several additional staff members were also arrested for related labor and regulatory violations.
The raid followed complaints on social media alleging that Israelis were operating illegal businesses in Thailand. The incident comes amid reports of rising tensions involving Israelis in the country, including recent altercations and criminal cases that have drawn public attention.
