President Isaac Herzog will depart on May 6 for a four-day official visit to Panama and Costa Rica, marking a historic milestone in diplomatic relations. In Panama, he will become the first Israeli president to make an official visit to the country, where he will meet President José Raúl Mulino and senior officials to strengthen bilateral ties and expand strategic cooperation. He will also engage with members of the local Jewish community.

Panama, described as a close ally and current member of the United Nations Security Council, has recently reinforced its relationship with Israel following talks between the two leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The visit is expected to build on that momentum and deepen collaboration between the two nations.

President Herzog will then travel to Costa Rica to attend the inauguration of President-elect Laura Fernández Delgado at the invitation of outgoing President Rodrigo Chaves Robles. In addition to participating in official ceremonies and a state dinner for heads of state, Herzog will hold diplomatic meetings with international leaders and meet representatives of Costa Rica's historic Jewish community. The visit underscores Israel's commitment to strengthening partnerships across Latin America.
