Northern Irish police have charged a 48-year-old man in connection with a March attack on a police station involving a hijacked vehicle and an improvised explosive device. The man faces charges including attempted murder, attempting to cause an explosion, hijacking, and possession of explosives with intent to endanger life or damage property.
Authorities said the device was placed in a food delivery vehicle that had been hijacked and ordered to drive to the police station before the bomb was made safe. More than 100 nearby homes were evacuated as officers carried out a controlled explosion.
Police previously arrested a 15-year-old boy under terrorism legislation in connection with the incident, as well as a 39-year-old woman on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, obstructing police, and assisting an offender. The charged man is due to appear in court on Friday.
