Amid the ongoing war with Iran, three Israeli artists are continuing to create and exhibit their work in Israel and abroad, demonstrating resilience in the face of disruption. Sirens, remote interviews, and canceled flights have not stopped them from opening exhibitions in Tel Aviv, Kaunas, and Holon. Each artist explores the power of color as a source of optimism, strength, and emotional expression during uncertain times.

Vera Kunis, a Moscow-born artist based in Tel Aviv, recently opened her first solo exhibition. Working across watercolor, acrylic, and oil, she uses bold, expressive colors and geometric forms to evoke possibility and renewal. Drawing inspiration from her children, everyday compositions, and art history, she views art as a layered metaphor that can never be fully exhausted and hopes her exhibition offers viewers a sense of optimism.

Avraham Kan, a self-taught painter originally from Georgia, presents vibrant, detail-rich scenes that blend urban life, memory, and folklore. Influenced by his family history and everyday experiences, he creates joyful, flat compositions filled with movement and humor. For Kan, art is rooted in sincerity and patience, and even during wartime he insists that creativity remains stronger than darkness.

Tal Tenne Czaczkes, a multidisciplinary pop artist, transforms discarded objects and familiar cultural symbols into works that promote reflection and action. Her sculptures and hybrid figures, including the character Popeyit, emphasize rebuilding from fragments and finding strength in imperfection. She sees art as both a visual language and a tool for influence, encouraging viewers to imagine change and take meaningful steps forward, especially in times of upheaval.
