Celina Jaitly has shared an emotional video stating that she is currently being kept away from her three children amid ongoing divorce and custody proceedings with her husband, Peter Haag. She alleged that she left Austria to escape what she described as systematic oppression, emotional abuse and humiliation, and claimed that despite joint custody arrangements ordered by an Austrian family court, she has been denied communication with her children.
In her statement, the actress said her children have been moved to an undisclosed location and are being influenced against her. She also alleged that divorce papers were served to her under false pretences and that her attempts at an amicable separation were met with coercion and intimidation. Calling the situation her 'Mother's Day,' she said she would return to India to fight for her children and dignity.
Following her complaint, Mumbai Police have registered a case against Peter Haag on charges including cruelty, physical abuse, criminal intimidation and harassment under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Authorities have also issued a Look Out Circular against him, citing concerns over his alleged lack of cooperation. The investigation is ongoing, and the case has sparked wider discussions about domestic violence and legal protections for women.
