The Binyamin Regional Council announced the establishment of Shibolet Farm near Mevo Horon, marking the 50th farm created within its jurisdiction. Officials described the move as a historic milestone and part of a broader strategy to strengthen territorial continuity and prevent what they describe as hostile takeovers of state lands.
The farm initiative operates in cooperation with government ministries, the Settlement Division, and the Israel Defense Forces. According to council representatives, the agricultural sites are intended to serve as a strategic response to alleged land appropriation efforts by the Palestinian Authority, while reinforcing Israeli presence across key areas.
Council leaders said the farms function as connecting links between established communities and help secure routes linking central Israel, Jerusalem, and the Gush Dan region. They characterized the farmers as 'guardians of the land' whose daily agricultural work maintains a continuous presence in strategic locations throughout western and eastern Binyamin, alongside other independently established outposts.
