A Florida congressional race has escalated into a broader political firestorm after Representative Randy Fine and candidate Dan Bilzerian exchanged accusations involving antisemitism, Israel, and foreign allegiances. The dispute began when Fine criticized Bilzerian following a report by Israel's Diaspora Ministry that labeled the social media personality among the leading antisemitic influencers of 2025.
Bilzerian, a dual citizen of the United States and Armenia with no major political background in Florida, has previously made inflammatory remarks about Jews and Israel, including statements interpreted as advocating violence. He has also posted messages attacking Fine and repeating antisemitic conspiracy theories, drawing condemnation from Jewish organizations and pro-Israel commentators.
The controversy widened after a viral clip showed Fine saying that Armenians should not serve in Congress, prompting backlash from Armenian-American groups. Fine said his comments were about barring members of Congress from holding dual citizenship or foreign allegiances, but critics accused him of discriminatory rhetoric and tied his remarks to his support for Azerbaijan.
What began as a local race has evolved into a larger online and political clash involving Armenian-American activists, pro-Israel voices, and commentators debating the line between criticism of Israel and antisemitism. The dispute has also revived tensions over Israel's relationship with Azerbaijan and the role of diaspora politics in the United States.
