A new intelligence assessment found that Iran has regained operational access to about 70 percent of its missile launchers, challenging previous claims that a joint United States and Israel campaign had devastated its military capabilities.
President Donald Trump said on March 9 that Iran had 'nothing left in a military sense,' while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said on April 8 that the campaign had rendered Iran 'combat-ineffective for years to come.'
The White House rejected the new assessment, with spokeswoman Olivia Wales stating that Iran's military had been 'crushed' and dismissing suggestions of a recovery as either delusional or supportive of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The Defense Department also defended the operation, calling it a historic success.
